The mysteries of death are eternal, and many seek to find immortality.

This skull is intricately covered in strange and powerful symbols. Lost to time, their meanings are not fully known. Some seem like alchemical and planetary symbols, maybe fragments of secret language known only to the maker. Perhaps the mystery of life after death are explained, or maybe the secret of eternal life.

This found coyote skull is hand-painted with natural inks applied with a sharpened wooden stick. Each piece is unique with different meanings and symbols.

It has been expertly 'antiqued' to achieve the look of a well preserved historical artifact. All materials are new.

This skull is in very nice condition, just a scrape on one canine tooth. Artifacts are rarely found in perfect condition, and the wear to this one makes for an authentic look.

The total length is about 8 inches, width is 3.5 inches.

great job! And it was really interesting to read how you made this. The whole sharpened stick and natural ink thing really adds to it.

Thank you!
I love making things using simple, old fashioned tools. It adds to the piece, and it creates is own unique look.

This will always be one of my favourite ever painted skulls.
It's so perfect in every way. I'm heartbroken I missed the sale.
How much did it go for, out of curiosity?
