Only the strongest and bravest of men and women become honored warriors. They must prove their skill and dedication in battle, and their bravery must be undeniable.

This bone hair pipe breastplate is heavily decorated with feathers, painted jawbones, and many glass beads. Each added piece is a trophy representing honorable deeds in battle.

Feathers include turkey and imitation crow (real feathers dyed black); beads are all glass and brass. Hair pipe is carved from buffalo bone, and the straps are all leather. There are ties behind the neck and around the torso.

very nice breast plate.... friend. what would be your main influence in creating this breast plate? just cause i love native american culture and highly respect it as you do...what would you say most influenced you to make this? was it a particular tribe, or the respect for the warrior.?? if that makes sense.
i really hold the Lakota Sioux as my most influential tribal influence, but so do many others...i am just asking cause i like to see what other folks think...and what inspires them. you did a wonderful job. friend. cheers. mine are more animal totem based...i only have posted one...i have made a few others...but i am learning to make headdress, porky headdress...and i think your work is very nice..and i highly respect it. cheers.

Hi there!

I really enjoy drawing influence from many different cultures, but Native American is probably in the top 5. ;) No particular tribe, but I try to mix the influences to create something of my own style. I'm very drawn to the warrior archetype, and this piece is an homage to that. I really think there's a bit of it in everyone.
Thanks so much for your comments!
