Just in case anyone happens to live in the Oklahoma area!

Hello all!

Autumn is in full swing here, and the crisp air puts us in the mood to curl up with a hot cup of tea next to a roaring fire. But if you should feel like getting out, the Second Friday Art Walk in downtown Norman, Oklahoma will be hosting numerous local artists, including myself. I will be set up at Sandalwood and Sage, a beautiful and unique shop at 322 East Main Street, Downtown Norman, Oklahoma. The Art Walk will be Friday, November 13th from 6-10. You can call 366-SAGE for more information.

I will have works from a new photography series, and a new 2010 calendar debuting a the Art Walk. I truly hope to see you all there! With wine and live music from Arabesque, its sure to be a most enjoyable evening of art and community. My work is currently on display, and remain so through the end of November. I think as children we are all wildly fascinated with the natural world and the intricate process of discovery; a snail or turtle can command our attention for hours on end and summon an array of disparate extraordinary questions. We were first introduced to Delaney La Fae’s artwork at the Mid Summers Night Fair and were immediately taken in and at one point captivated by (of all things) a black and white photograph of a bucket.

Delaney La Fae has the amazing ability to capture the ordinary every day and make it the most unique thing you’ve ever seen, as if seeing that thing with a child’s eyes. Succinctly put, “The name of my studio, Delaney La Fae Studios, stems from my love of nature and all of the creatures within, both seen and unseen. I believe that if you sit quietly and wait long enough, the magic of nature will come to you.”

In addition to Delaney La Fae we will host Arabesque the talented duo of award winning musician Steve Vanlandingham and the accomplished University of Oklahoma Musicologist Miranda Arana who has performed at the Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, and the Smithsonian Institute with Vietnamese, Latin American, Tibetan as well as other folkloric ensembles.

We hope you will join us for the earthy and ethereal artworks of Delaney La Fae underscored by the mesmerizing Celtic and Middle Eastern fusion of Arabesque during the November 13th Art Walk from 6-10pm.
